I was first introduced to the idea of hypnotherapy after meeting Jennifer and her husband, Marty, one night while my wife, Catie and I were out for supper. I’m at a low place in my life and want to make real changes. I’ve tried rehab and endless therapists with little success. I am a person among many who has suffered immense family tragedy, grief, and loss, and in the process of picking up the broken pieces, I went to a psychologist to try and solve  the problems. I have known Jennifer for a good while and love her! But I have only been introduced to hypnotherapy pretty recently. Trichotillomania:

I am one of many who suffers from trichotillomania. Many people have never heard of this before, it is also called trich for short. The reason many people have not heard of this is because those that suffer from it are typically extremely ashamed of it and hide it very well. Trichotillomania is known as “the hair pulling disorder”. I can think back to when I was about 10 years old and I would pull out my hair, eyelashes and eyebrows. Then as I got older it was only my hair. I have suffered with this on and off for 14 years and each day is different. Some days are really bad when anxiety and stress is high, and other days you may only pull a few out. Pulling the hair gives your body a sense of pleasure and satisfaction.

In September 2019 I decided I finally wanted to put trich behind me and I started looking up ideas for therapy since nothing else had worked in the past. My stress was high with school and planning a wedding and the pulling was only getting worse by the day. I saw on Google that hypnotherapy was a common treatment. I was skeptical at first, but I was desperate for a solution. I started looking up Hypnotherapists near me. I had called one and they had never heard of trich so they were not an option. That was when I found Jennifer. She was so sweet and understanding from the very first phone call and we got my first appointment set up right away. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got there, but she made sure I was comfortable and felt at home. After our initial session I listened to the audio recording almost every night for two months and have been pull free for almost 6 months now. When I listen to our audio recording when I am at home it helps me to feel relaxed and relieves the stress that makes me want to pull. I am a stay at home mother of four and I have just begun building an online business.
